BMW E46 M54 Engine Tuning — MS43 ECU (Factory ECU) or Standalone
From NA refinement to full boost builds. Safe, data-driven calibration with a sense of humour.
Why Us
- Manchester, UK — dyno tuning on a Bosch-calibrated dyno.
- Worldwide support — pre-tuned ECUs, MS4x Flasher for self-flashing (requires a K+Dcan cable), and fully remote mapping to your laptop.
- Live tuning with OLS300 emulation — real-time calibration on the factory ECU with full diagnostics.
- We work with tuners worldwide — results matter more than ego; we’ll help where our niche experience fits.
Decades of BMW E46 & M54 Engine Tuning
We’ve spent years on the BMW E46 and its M54 engine, tuning the MS43 ECU until we know it inside out. We’ve built our own turbo and supercharger cars and punished them at tracks across Europe — including arduous laps at the Nürburgring.
With over 20 years of EPROM emulation & live tuning experience, we calibrate safely and effectively. We also support other UK tuners with challenging projects: turbo, supercharger, ITBs, big cams, and more. Friendly, focused, and honest — we stick to what we know: E36 & E46 tuning.
Rust and grey hair are inevitable. Bad tunes aren’t.

Summary: What We Tune (E46 M54)
- NA tuning: VANOS target optimisation, ignition timing, and correct fueling — tailored to your intake/exhaust and light mods.
- Cams: With uprated camshafts we will pick up more power once VANOS, ignition and fueling are retuned to suit.
- Turbo (stock internals): 7–10 psi typically yields ~300–360 bhp on an otherwise stock M54 when set up correctly.
- Big turbo: A well-specced, non-chinesium GT35 at 14+ psi should give around ~400 bhp with the right supporting mods.
- Supercharger: The linear, road-friendly option — typically ~300–400 bhp depending on pulley and hardware.
- Forged builds: Around ~500 bhp with rods & pistons and a compression drop (or thicker HG if not forging).
MS43 MAP Sensor Conversion
Running boost on the factory Siemens MS43 ECU? We offer a pre-terminated MAP sensor adapter harness and matching MAP-enabled MS43 calibration, converting the ECU to use inlet manifold pressure as its primary engine load signal.
Ideal for turbocharged and supercharged M54 applications, with optional wideband datalogging and electronic boost-control connections built into the harness.
